When you replace the lid, the short nozzle in the center of the lid will be forced into the central hold of the cardboard disk, providing a tight seal. Make sure the paper bag is tightly secured over the short nozzle before vacuuming, and lock the lid down with the two latches. Always make sure that the vacuum bag is empty before vacuuming.
