Consider floor plan, pipe routing, inlet count and condition. An existing system should be checked for leaks or restrictions before sizing a replacement.
The installation space
Check mounting support, inlet and exhaust positions, container-removal clearance and manufacturer ventilation requirements.
Your cleaning kit
Check the wall inlet, hose switching, electrical connections and powerhead. A new power unit does not automatically include or replace the hose kit.

Plan the whole connection.
When replacing an older unit, the available wall space, piping and electrical supply matter as much as the brand. Send photos of the model label and surrounding connections for a useful starting point.

Can MD replace another brand’s power unit?
It may be possible after checking the piping, voltage, mounting and control connections. Adapters or other installation changes may be required.
Are the 120V and 240V versions interchangeable?
No. Choose the version that matches the approved electrical supply and exact manufacturer requirements. Do not use a plug adapter as a substitute for the correct supply.
Which MD model should I choose?
