Why does my Kirby vacuum stink?
Kirby vacuum STINKS: If it stinks even after you have replaced the disposable bag, the outer cloth bag has absorbed the smell. Take the plastic bag top off, take the bag off the plastic shoe-like base - you may have to buy a bag strap or use big cable tie to install it back.

How long does a Kirby belt last?
The Kirby 301291 belt is the new Kirby belt with the knurled tread pattern on the inside. If you receive belts that do not have the Kirby 301291 printing, or belts that are smooth on the inside, then you received generic replacement belts. Replace these belts every 3 months to ensure optimum performance
Can you spray paint with a Kirby vacuum cleaner?
With the Kirby Spray Gun, you can spray a wide range of liquids. Paints and lacquers can be sprayed after thinning as instructed on the can.

 

Common Issues with Kirby Vacuums

If the Kirby motor sounds loud: 
  • Test the blockage brush roller.
  • Enter the head of the brush and control the fan – Turn off your Kirby first.
  • Ensure that the Kirby belt is correctly installed. 
Low suction on Kirby:
  • Look at the bag, they have a fill line that is usually about midway on the bag.
  • Ensure that the intake is not blocked from the assembly.
  • Look at the curtain, most models have a light on the head assembly that lights green when the belt is good.
  • Test the mini emptor bag or the waste bag tube / (your vacuum bag).
  • Care should be taken to verify the head assembly to ensure that the height level can be changed.

It is difficult to push or pull Kirby:
  • Ensure the transmission lever on the back is "D" instead of "N" on the move.
  • Set the height of the head to higher – 1 the lower and higher digits rise the highest the head.
