- Flatten the Bissell handle Unscrew 5 Phillips head screws to remove Brush Access Plate
- Hold Bissell Brush roll on both ends and lift Brush out
- Remove screw securing the Lower Hose
- Push a broomstick through Bissell Hose toward Brush area to clear Lower Hose & Brush area of all debris
- Inspect Lower Hose, Belt and Brush roll Access Plate for damage

If Bissell Brush does not spin freely > Replace Bissell Brush
Reattach Bissell Belt by looping it onto motor shaft, then around Brush
- Stretch Bissell Belt until the Brush is secure
Rotate Brush roll several times to align Belt correctly
Reinstall Brush roll Access Plate and screws
Reattach Lower Hose, secure the screw

Cleaning Bissell tank & Bissell filters are considered a part of routine maintenance Remove & empty dirt tank.
- Release the Bissell Separator by twisting to the left to disconnect & remove
Clean Separator of all debris
Bissell Separator can be rinsed > Allow to completely air dry 24 hours before reinstalling
Clean Bissell filter Open the tank lid > Lift release latch on front of tank Remove filter Wash filter with warm water > Allow 24 hours to dry
Reinstall parts
Reattach separator into dirt tank by twisting left
Reinstall filter
Attach Bissell dirt tank back onto machine
