How to replace a belt on a kirby vacuum cleaner?
Welcome to Ace Vacuums, today we are going to show you how to replace a belt and the roller on your Kirby vacuum cleaner.
First : With the Power Nozzle off, rotate the belt lifter clockwise until the green arrows line up.
Unlock the Rug Plate by unhooking the two latches on the rear of the Power Nozzle.
Pull on the rear edge of the Kirby Rug Plate to remove. Slide off the old belt and replace with a new one.Make sure the numbers on the kirby Brush Roll end caps are the same on both sides before inserting it into the kirby Power Nozzle. Place the kirby belt and kirby Brush Roll back into the kirby Power Nozzle. One of the Brush Roll ends is larger than the other. The Brush Roll will only fit in the Power Nozzle one way. Center the kirby belt on the Brush Roll.Place the Rug Plate on the front of the Bumper first and then pull it over the rear. Secure it in place with the two latches.Turn the Belt Lifter counterclockwise until the red arrows line up. The belt should catch on the hook inside the nozzle. Reattach the kirby Power Nozzle to the unit.Turn the Belt Lifter clockwise until the green arrows line up.Turn the unit on and check that the kirby Brush Roll Indicator Light is on. If it is something we cannot fix it on the spot, then your vacuum cleaner will have to be left with us for our technician to look at. We will fill out a repair tag with some of your basic information and give you a slip to take with you which will be needed when you pick up the machine.
Within 24 to 48 hours our vacuum technician will inspect the vacuum cleaner and give you an estimate on what it will take to fix your vacuum cleaner. Once you approve the work we will get started on your vacuum repair or service right away. If parts are needed to be special ordered, then payment will be needed before they can be ordered. Once the parts are received we will install them right away, our vacuum technician will then test your vacuum to make sure everything is working properly.
Vacuum cleaners are like any other machines, they need to be serviced and maintained every year for optimum performance. We offer annual vacuum maintenance and service, which helps the overall function of your vacuum cleaner and keeps it running longer and more efficiently.
