  • Cordless Duoflex HX1 Extra stick vacuum
  • Up to 55 minutes on Low with the PowerUnit alone
  • MultiFloor electrobrush with automatic flooring detection
  • 0.3 L dust container and Hygiene filter
  • SpeedLock wall bracket for Grab&Go storage

Product Overview

The Miele Duoflex HX1 Extra is designed for convenient cordless cleaning in a compact stick-vacuum format. Its Brilliant White finish, Digital Efficiency Motor, Vortex Technology, and two electronic power levels give it a straightforward setup for everyday floor and above-floor tasks.

The included MultiFloor HX-EB 20 electrobrush is the primary floor-cleaning tool. Miele says its roller-brush speed adjusts automatically through flooring detection, helping the vacuum adapt as you move between suitable floor surfaces.

This model also includes an HX-DB dust brush, an XL HX-UN upholstery nozzle, and an HX-CN crevice nozzle. The Extra package adds a flexible universal brush for sensitive surfaces, so the cleaner can be configured for furniture, narrow gaps, and other above-floor areas.

Storage is a central part of the design. The SpeedLock wall bracket supports the Grab&Go function, while the 3.1 kg weight and 0.3 L dust container keep the machine relatively compact; however, the container size means emptying frequency should be part of your buying decision.

Expert Recommendation

We recommend the Duoflex HX1 Extra for apartments, smaller homes, and households that value quick access to a cordless cleaner between larger cleaning sessions. The wall bracket, compact format, powered floorhead, and included above-floor tools make it a flexible option when convenience matters as much as maximum capacity.

The published 55-minute figure is a specific test condition: Low power with the PowerUnit alone. It should not be treated as a promise of 55 minutes of continuous cleaning with the powered electrobrush attached. Selected power, floor resistance, and tool configuration all affect the available runtime.

A different vacuum type may be a better fit if you routinely clean for long periods, need a larger dust capacity, or prefer a corded or bagged system. For a personal fit check, compare how the 3.1 kg weight feels in the floor-cleaning and above-floor configurations you expect to use most.

Best For

Apartments

The cordless format and SpeedLock wall bracket suit homes where easy access and compact storage are priorities. The 0.3 L container is worth considering if your apartment produces a large amount of debris.

Frequent Quick Cleanups

Grab&Go storage makes the cleaner convenient to reach for between larger cleaning sessions. Two electronic power levels provide a simple way to adjust operation for different tasks.

Hardwood Floors

The package includes a MultiFloor electrobrush and a flexible universal brush for sensitive surfaces. Choose the tool and setting that match the floor manufacturer’s care instructions.

Carpet and Rugs

The powered MultiFloor electrobrush uses flooring detection to adjust roller-brush speed. Delicate rugs should be cleaned only with an appropriate setting and attachment.

Stairs and Furniture

The dust brush, upholstery nozzle, and crevice nozzle provide options for above-floor work. The 3.1 kg weight should still be considered for extended handheld use.

Sensitive Surfaces

The Extra package includes a flexible universal brush described for sensitive surfaces. Test the selected tool as appropriate and follow the surface manufacturer’s instructions.

Not Ideal For

  • Long uninterrupted cleaning sessions where the listed battery runtime is not sufficient.
  • Homes that prefer a sealed disposable bag instead of emptying a 0.3 L bagless dust container.
  • Users who need a larger dust capacity for substantial debris or frequent pet-hair collection.
  • Wet spills, liquids, or materials excluded by the operating instructions.

Key Features

  • Cordless cleaning: The lithium-ion battery provides cordless operation and up to 55 minutes of runtime on Low with the PowerUnit alone.
  • MultiFloor electrobrush: The powered floorhead adjusts roller-brush speed automatically through flooring detection.
  • SpeedLock storage: The wall bracket supports the Grab&Go function and lets you select the appliance configuration in one movement.
  • Sensitive-surface brush: The Extra package includes a flexible universal brush intended for cleaning sensitive surfaces.
  • Compact format: The cleaner weighs 3.1 kg and has a 0.3 L dust container.
  • Hygiene filtration: Miele lists a Hygiene filter with 99.99% dust retention capacity in accordance with IEC 62885-43.

What Makes This Model Stand Out

The strongest practical feature is the SpeedLock wall bracket. Rather than treating storage as an afterthought, Miele builds the Grab&Go concept around keeping the cleaner accessible and allowing the configuration to be selected in one movement.

The Extra package is also useful for homes with varied surfaces and above-floor needs. Along with the powered MultiFloor electrobrush, it supplies dedicated dusting, upholstery, crevice, and sensitive-surface options, while the Hygiene filter provides the stated filtration specification.

Product Comparisons

Duoflex HX1 Extra vs a Larger Cordless Stick Vacuum

The Duoflex emphasizes a compact 3.1 kg format, wall-mounted access, and a 0.3 L container. A larger cordless stick vacuum may be preferable when dust capacity or longer cleaning sessions are more important than compact storage, but specific sibling specifications should be compared directly.

Stick vs Canister

This Duoflex is cordless and designed for quick access, with no power cord to move between outlets. A canister vacuum uses a different handling format and may be a better choice for shoppers who prefer extended corded cleaning or a different floor-tool arrangement.

Miele vs SEBO

Miele and SEBO offer different vacuum designs and handling experiences. SEBO is known mainly for uprights, while Miele offers this cordless stick format along with other vacuum types; an in-store demonstration can help compare balance, controls, and floor-tool feel.

Miele vs Dyson

The Duoflex HX1 Extra is a cordless, bagless Miele stick vacuum with a 0.3 L dust container and Hygiene filter. Dyson models vary, so compare the specific model’s battery, tools, filtration, dust capacity, and handling rather than assuming the specifications are the same.

Questions Buyers Commonly Ask

Is it worth choosing the Extra version?

The Extra package includes a flexible universal brush for sensitive surfaces along with dusting, upholstery, and crevice tools. It is most useful when your cleaning routine includes multiple surface types rather than floors alone.

Is it a good everyday vacuum?

It is well suited to frequent pickups, apartments, and smaller cleaning sessions where cordless access and wall storage are valuable. For whole-home cleaning that regularly exceeds the practical battery time, consider a different format or cleaning plan.

Will the 0.3 L container be enough?

That depends on the amount and type of debris in your home. It keeps the cleaner compact, but homes with pets, bulky debris, or frequent large cleanups should expect to empty it more often.

Does the wall bracket require planning?

Yes. The SpeedLock bracket is intended for wall storage, so choose a location that is convenient for your cleaning route and follow the installation instructions. Its value is greatest when the vacuum remains easy to reach.

Can I use it for furniture and tight spaces?

Yes. The listed accessories include an upholstery nozzle, dust brush, and crevice nozzle. The PowerUnit-alone runtime specification also confirms that Miele identifies a PowerUnit-only configuration for this model.

How is it emptied?

Miele describes the dust container as quick and hygienic to empty at the touch of a button. Since it is a bagless design, emptying the container is part of normal use.

Exchanges require authorization and replacement availability; any price difference and applicable charges will be explained before processing.

Applicable rights and earlier purchases

This policy applies to online and in-store purchases. We will honor more favorable written return terms provided with an earlier purchase. Applicable consumer rights remain unaffected. Where the European Union 14-day cancellation right applies, customers may cancel or return eligible orders within 14 days of receipt, subject to applicable legal exceptions, without giving a reason.
