The genuine Dyson DC40 Brush Bar Assembly is designed for all models of the Dyson DC40 upright vacuum series. Listed as part number 924405-01, the genuine Dyson DC40 Brush Bar Assembly is a hardworking part responsible for picking up dirt, dust, and debris from carpets and bare surfaces alike.

To replace your Dyson DC40 Brush Bar Assembly, first turn off your DC40 and unplug the vacuum. Turn the vacuum over so that the dust bin is on the floor and the cleaner head is face-up, exposing the soleplate and brush bar. Remove the red clip from the neck between the cleaner head and the ball, and then detach the cleaner head from the ball. Two clips attach the soleplate to the cleaner head. Turning these clips inward will allow you to detach the soleplate from the cleaner head. Next, remove the four screws securing the brush bar end caps to the cleaner head. This will allow you to remove each part of the two-piece genuine Dyson DC40 Brush Bar Assembly. You may now easily clear obstructions in the cleaner head or replace the brush bars with a new genuine Dyson DC40 Brush Bar Assembly. Attach the new brush bar components to the corresponding sides and turn them to make sure that there are no remaining obstructions. You may new reinsert the screws to attach the end caps to the cleaner head. Align the soleplate tabs with their inserts on the cleaner head and use the clips to lock the soleplate into position. Place the connector clip on the neck of the cleaner head and then slide the neck of the cleaner head onto the corresponding neck from the ball of your DC40. Congratulations, you have just changed your genuine Dyson DC40 Brush Bar Assembly.
