BEAM 11-Inch vs. 14-Inch Filters: How to Check Fit
Ace Vacuums · BEAM owner guides
The 11-inch and 14-inch BEAM filters are different replacement parts. Start with your full power-unit model, then confirm the filter code and mounting arrangement. A larger filter is not an upgrade for a unit designed for the smaller part.
The two common catalog references are TDFILTGORE11 and TDFILTGORE14. Their similar appearance can make a photo-only match difficult. Use the model reference below, then check the existing rim and attachment before purchasing.
11-inch versus 14-inch: model reference
| Replacement filter | Models listed by BEAM |
|---|---|
| 11-inch · TDFILTGORE11 | 205, 345, 360 |
| 14-inch · TDFILTGORE14 | 398, 475, 495, 3600, 4500 |
| Round filter · TDFILTR7 | 275 — a separate filter style. |

What to check before you buy
- Read the power-unit label. Use the complete model, not the number on a hose or powerhead. Our model-identification guide shows what to collect.
- Look for the existing filter code. Keep any original service invoice or replacement packaging that identifies the part.
- Photograph the mounting rim and attachment. The filter must seat and seal in the intended arrangement.
- Compare the whole assembly. Note the filter shape, rim and any model-specific retaining features. Do not rely on the fabric’s hanging depth in a photo.
- Resolve mismatches before ordering. If the model chart and the fitted part disagree, send both details. The unit may have a different version or a prior repair.
Disconnect the unit from its electrical supply before opening the collection compartment. If the filter cannot be inspected without difficult disassembly, leave it in place and request service guidance.
A size name is not a fit guarantee. Do not stretch, trim or force a filter rim into a different housing. A poor fit can leave a gap where dust bypasses the intended filter path.
Model 275 and older filter styles
BEAM’s lookup identifies TDFILTR7 for model 275. That round-filter reference should not be confused with TDFILTGORE11 just because both descriptions contain a similar inch measurement. Shape, mounting and the specified part number matter.
For an older Classic, Serenity, Alliance or other installation, do not infer compatibility from the family name alone. Send the full power-unit label and a photo of the installed filter. We can check the appropriate replacement and whether it is currently available.
If the item you are replacing is a disposable collection bag, use the BEAM bags directory instead. A collection bag and a permanent filter have different roles, even when both are used in the same system.
What “self-cleaning” means for maintenance
BEAM describes its self-cleaning filtration as releasing dust when the system switches off. That feature does not tell you whether every BEAM filter can be washed, removed or maintained in the same way. Follow the manual for your specific unit. See BEAM’s explanation of self-cleaning filtration.
The 2025 BEAM owner’s manual includes maintenance instructions for the models it covers, including cleaning a permanent filter while it remains installed. Those instructions should not be applied automatically to a different generation.
- Check the collection bucket or bag as directed by the model’s manual.
- Ask for an assessment if the filter is torn, detached, distorted or no longer seated correctly.
- Do not wash or remove a filter unless the instructions for that exact model permit it.
- If weak suction remains after appropriate routine maintenance, consider a system diagnosis before buying a filter.
A filter replacement is a fitment decision, not a guaranteed cure for every suction complaint. We can help distinguish a supply request from a central vacuum repair enquiry.
Common BEAM filter questions
Will the 14-inch filter improve an 11-inch system?
Choose the specified part for the housing. The two sizes are not interchangeable performance options.
Should I measure the loose fabric?
A fabric measurement alone is not a reliable identification method. Start with the model and replacement code, then confirm the mounting assembly.
Does “self-cleaning” mean I should replace it every year?
Do not assume an annual replacement schedule. Follow the manufacturer’s care guidance and assess the filter’s condition and fit.
